Before we get into the chart review, reading the latest price action and Podcast suggestions, I want to talk about trade journaling. In order to automate your process, you have to know your process. Many have asked me where to get started and what to log in the first place. A ready-to-use trading log can be found at this link, and this podcast has good tips on what to track:
The journaling included: why did I get into the trade? … I wish I still had those notebooks because they were very detailed. Like:
What was I thinking?
What was I feeling?
Why was I doing it?
Was I buying it because someone else in the firm liked it?
Or did I actually have conviction on it based upon my rules?

After the latest bout of volatility and the headlines trying to rationalize it, I think this quote from the the Jack Schwager of podcasts, Kevin Muir, is worth opening with and thinking about:
As a guy who sat on a desk and had orders that moved markets, it’s way more random and arbitrary over the short run than anyone imagines.
…
So people read everything into like the one specific day, and it’s just BS. It is way more random than people think over the short run. Over the long run, it all gets sorted out, and it is going to go where it’s going to go. But to explain the short-term movements so precise, I just laugh whenever I hear someone saying it.
